FAQs

Of course! We enjoy treating any and all individuals no matter their activity level, sport of preference or age. We have experience treating a wide variety of pathologies, including orthopedic and neurological conditions, post-operative, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, torticollis, and many more.
-
Most importantly, we want you to be comfortable!! We also want to be able to easily assess joint alignment, so we recommend avoiding baggy clothes. A leotard or shirt and tights, leggings, or shorts are perfect.

You are not required to bring anything to a screen except yourself. With that said, if during an Injury-Prevention screen you would like us to address an issue you are having with pointe work or shoe wear, we recommend bringing those shoes and any accessories (toe pads, etc.) to the screen.

Yes! If you are done with Physical Therapy but need help transitioning back to dance, you might be a great candidate for our Dance Coaching and Conditioning sessions. In these sessions, we will assess your physical strengths and weaknesses to create a specific exercise program to meet your needs and ease your transition back to pain-free dancing. We will also assess your technique and address any habitual movement patterns that might be contributing to your previous injury, or that might lead to future injury.

Tilstra Physical Therapy is an out-of-network physical therapy provider. This means we are not contracted with health insurance companies, and do not file claims directly to your insurance company. In some instances, health insurance companies will reimburse for out-of-network services if provided a Superbill (a receipt indicating PT services were rendered, diagnosis codes, CPT treatment codes, PT business information,etc.). Upon request from the patient, Tilstra Physical Therapy can provide a Superbill to the patient. It is the patient’s responsibility to submit the Superbill to their insurance company for reimbursement. Please note, reimbursement is not guaranteed and we recommend calling your insurance provider prior to starting care to ask about your out-of-network physical therapy benefits. All payments to TIlstra Physical Therapy are due at the time of service. Any reimbursement from your health insurer will be made payable to you. Please reach out with any questions on how we can assist you in this process.

Tilstra Physical Therapy does not accept Medicare. Unfortunately, Medicare also states that Medicare beneficiaries are not legally able to pay cash for services that Medicare covers, such as physical therapy. This means Tilstra Physical Therapy is unable to accept Medicare beneficiaries as physical therapy patients. Medicare beneficiaries are, however, able to participate in our Virtual Wellness Coaching sessions.

We accept HSA debit cards, or we can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your HSA for reimbursement.

Providing the highest-quality care to each patient/client is our highest priority. We understand that the cost of healthcare services can be burdensome. Many physical therapy clinics will strongly suggest/require you to schedule up to three visits each week. With high deductible insurance plans becoming commonplace, this becomes far less affordable, even with insurance. We understand quality care is not cheap, which is why we prioritize one-on-one care and do our best to minimize how often you see us. You can count on us to provide an honest appraisal of how we can help and you will never be pressured into continuing beyond what you find valuable or affordable. If you are facing circumstances that make affording health services difficult, please contact us to discuss how we might be able to help.
