Tilstra Physical Therapy

Respecting the Art of Movement

Tilstra Physical Therapy was founded by Elizabeth Tilstra, PT, DPT, licensed physical therapist, movement specialist, and dance medicine educator.

Her Story >

We believe in the concept of quality over quantity.

  • We offer one-on-one sessions with a physical therapist so that we can focus on aspects of care that require skilled intervention - manual therapy, movement analysis and neuromuscular re-education, dry needling, etc.

  • We will work to figure out the What, the How, and the Why of your pain in order to create a multi-dimensional approach to your treatment plan.

  • With attention to detail, we are often able to accomplish the same goals with less than half the number of PT visits as the traditional therapy model.

“Working with Elizabeth is incredible. I can’t recommend her enough. With Elizabeth’s dance background, she is able to go above and beyond typical treatments, and solve problems quickly. She is great at translating my explanation of pain, even if I feel like it's abstract or doesn't make sense - she really listens. Elizabeth is a great communicator and one of the only people I fully trust!”

“As a professional dancer, I was very careful who I trusted for advice on things pertaining to the body. Elizabeth was one of those very few trusted sources. She rehabbed me through several complex injuries. After each, my directors and colleagues would remark that I was dancing better than ever before. But more importantly, I felt stronger and more aware of my body’s strengths and weaknesses than pre-injury. That kind of knowledge was invaluable during a 13 year career. I can’t recommend Elizabeth enough. You will be in the best hands!”

  • Hal Andrews

“Yesterday I played a golf course that I played at least fifty times previously. I tried to swing hard all day, and I hit it consistently farther than I ever have. For the first time in years, I felt good and I felt strong… Without Elizabeth's treatment, guidance, and encouragement, I would not be where I am today: able to play golf without any pain."

“Elizabeth is the best physical therapist I have ever worked with. She is very attentive and thorough in her evaluation and treatments, as well as very knowledgeable and able to answer any and all questions I have had. I have seen vast improvement from my injury since beginning to work with Elizabeth. I cannot recommend her enough for all your physical therapy needs!”
